A little glimpse of photography.
It's been awhile. Quite a long while. Almost 2 months since my last post.
Writing life has just felt a bit dry lately. Not bad necessarily, just not much coming out. And I think that's okay. Some days I journal, some days I write random thoughts down. Most days there isn't much.
But yes, I still plan on blogging. I didn't go anywhere. Just in a season of rest from writing I think. And it's giving me some opportunities to explore some other things.
Today I wanted to share a bit of what I've been working on.
My husband has a super awesome camera. I've always loved photography, but I can be insecure about starting new things. But bit by bit, I've been wandering around and seeing what this photography life is like. And I enjoy it.
Greg is teaching me so much. I'm learning about ISO, aperture and exposure. About white balance and shutter speed. At times, I feel like I'm in school again learning new vocabulary. I'm also learning about what makes a picture. How it needs a subject. How the camera needs to get the proper amount of light. But more so, I'm learning what kinds of pictures I like, and those I don't care for as much.
I'm learning that I like when a picture tells a story. When it makes you wonder. When it makes you appreciate things that you wouldn't normally see.
The world looks different with a camera in your hands.
It's actually pretty similar to writing life.
So here's some of what I've been up to...
