The Morning Light
Some mornings you wake up to a full day. A day where you aren't quite sure what to expect. A day where there are so many expectations. So many tasks to finish. So many details to prepare. So many things that have to get ironed out.
This morning I woke up with a deep peace and confidence about the day. So much so, that it even felt strange. I knew practically there were a lot of challenges that I was going to bump up against. A lot of loose ends had to be tied up within several hours of time. And still there was a lot of uncertainty.
But I felt more than okay. The morning light looked more beautiful than normal. My coffee tasted better than normal. I read a blog post that spoke directly to me. I enjoyed my pancake with peanut butter. (Umm, if you've never had pancakes with peanut butter, stop reading and go try it now. So good!) I had music playing this morning and just felt overall peaceful.
Who knows if it's going to last the whole day? So right now I'm soaking it up. You've got to celebrate those moments when they come.
And this morning I've got some verses to carry with me throughout the day...
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you. (2 Corinthians 4:7-12 ESV)
